The portrait of Crown Prince Haakon Magnus is the third in a row of Norwegian royalty in Vidar's collection of Norwegian history.
The colors used go well with the reminding royal collection of King Olav V, HM King Harald V and Queen Sonjas.
The color palette used in the portraits is associated with royalty and monarchy. The blue faces are based on the history of people with noble birth said to be "blue-blooded". The term was first used in English in the early 19th century but likely originated further back in medieval Spain as "sangre azul".
